**Abstract**
This article explores the regulation of the right to be forgotten in the European Union and examines the relevant rulings of the Supreme Court of Justice of Argentina. Through a comparative analysis, it highlights the legal and ethical implications of personal data protection and reputation in the digital age. It is argued that the right to be forgotten, while already recognized in Europe, faces challenges in its practical application and adaptation to the Argentine context. The article concludes that the growing significance of this right in contemporary society underscores the need for specific legislation to ensure an appropriate balance between the right to information and the protection of privacy.
