Abstract

The Bolivian constitutional regime regarding the right to a healthy and clean environment constitutes a normative milestone that is directly linked to the global protectionist movement. Civil society promoted the adoption of more stringent public policies in this regard, which were ultimately reflected in the new Constitution of 2009. The creation of the Agro-Environmental Jurisdiction marked a new milestone. This article explores the background of the reform, as well as the main changes introduced by it, within the framework of Bolivian legal pluralism
